As many of you may know, right around two years ago I moved to Northern California to live with my (now) husband, Drew. The transition of moving to a new state, experiencing life in different surroundings and building a home with the love of my life has been such a special time in my life. Throughout my time here, I’ve really been able to look inward and discern the things that bring me joy, and discover who I am, without outside noise. I’ve started to define this new era of living as one that champions the art of slowing down, savoring every moment, and finding contentment in life’s simplest pleasures – otherwise known as romanticizing life. I will say, I think this is something I’ve always been good at, but I’ve become more in tune with myself and what I want for my life. I’m going to be using this blog to freely express the things that are inspiring me, the behind the scenes of making a house a home, and cultivating a life that is fulfilling and meaningful to me.
Slow living encourages us to be present and pay attention to these seemingly insignificant moments— a hot coffee on a brisk morning, a freshly cut bouquet of flowers in a stunning vase, the beam of sunlight coming through the window. These small joys, when acknowledged and savored, can bring immense joy, and this is what I’ve truly come to recognize in this last year. As I began to explore my new home, I started to notice the way my eyes lit up when I walked into an antique store, or the way I would marvel at the symmetry of a vineyard, or even how the trees in my yard bloomed the most joyful shade of pink, and I started to realize that the most fulfilling life I could live is a life where I recognize and appreciate these small joys. I have realized the importance of defining what you want your life to look like, and fine tuning it to reflect your values, priorities and aspirations.
I’d love for you to follow along. I will be sharing about all different topics, as well as sharing style and home inspiration, and more. Thank you for stopping by & we’ll chat more soon! xx
Warmest wishes,
